Set Up PRTG

1. Download PRTG

Visit the official Paessler website and download the latest PRTG installer for Windows. Ensure the system meets hardware and OS requirements before starting.

2. Install the Software

Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Select default settings unless you have a specific deployment configuration in mind.

3. Access the Web Interface

Once installed, open a web browser and navigate to the provided local address. Log in using the default admin credentials to access the dashboard.

4. Add Devices to Monitor

In the dashboard, add the IP addresses or hostnames of the devices you want to monitor. Group them logically (e.g., servers, switches, workstations).

5. Configure Sensors

Attach relevant sensors to each device to track metrics such as bandwidth usage, uptime, CPU load, and disk space. Use auto-discovery to speed up the process.

6. Set Up Notifications

Configure alert rules so PRTG can notify you by email, SMS, or push notification when thresholds are exceeded or devices go offline.
